We are currently looking for a Lighting Sales Specialist to join our team in our Project Centre in Montréal, Québec.

This position requires an individual with an entrepreneurial attitude along with strong business acumen and a desire to succeed. The individual will be a team player with a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and meet key deadlines in a positive and professional manner.


SCOPE OF THE JOB

Working in close collaboration with the Project Centre Director and team members, the Lighting Sales Specialist prepares precise quotes for his clients and works with our suppliers on important projects. The individual will have the ability to drive and influence specifications at the consulting engineering, as well as at the developer and property management level for our complete offering of lighting fixtures and lighting control products. The Lighting Sales Specialist will demonstrate a great capacity for market development  targeting new sales opportunities and he will be responsible for the development and growth strategy of accounts. He will use his excellent knowledge of offerings, applications, competition and customers to develop and present lighting, control and energy saving solutions.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop customer strategies that meet the business centre’s sales objectives
  • Analyze and manage customer relationships in order to advance sales and increase customer base while responding to customers’ needs
  • Execute lighting plans, energy saving analyzes, return on investment calculations, etc.
  • Apply local codes and norms
  • Provide product knowledge on lighting, lighting controls for specifiers, contractors, distributors and end users, and be knowledgeable on other product lines
  • Offer technical support to problem-solve on projects as needed
  • Define the viability and profitability of potential opportunities (definition of a “good order”)
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities between segments, markets, brands and products
  • Capitalize on the organization’s resources to grow the activities of our customers
  • Constantly work towards converting customer requests into orders and closing sales
  • Recommend updated or recent product offers to integrate preferences or gain a competitive advantage
  • Meet the operational needs of all functional stakeholders to ensure closing the sale of the solution
  • Leverage relationships with existing customers to identify new opportunities within the business value chain, which benefits the customer’s financial results
  • Take advantage of third party offers to complete the solution
  • Become the customers’ trusted specialist at the operational level 
  • Coach and train team members on product knowledge and application
  • Develop long term relationships with lighting manufacturers and customers in a professional manner
  • Participate in trade shows and other events organized by manufacturers
  • Maintain and develop product knowledge on lighting and lighting controls product lines

 

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the Lighting industry
  • Excellent knowledge in Lighting products and controls
  • AGi32 lighting design experience and/or a recognized IES certification
  • Ability to explore, identify and quantify growth opportunities
  • Sales-driven with demonstrated results
  • Ability to combine technical knowledge and sales competency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral, written and presentation skills)
  • Excellent knowledge of French (written and spoken) and very good knowledge of English
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and meet key deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in personal and professional development
  • Good software skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Available to travel abroad as needed (trainings, trade shows, etc.)
